We were recently commissioned to fit a full teak deck replacement to Lady Em, a Maxi 35. For this project the boat was in the water throughout, so we created the deck as panels in the workshop and then fitted them to the boat while she was in her marina berth. This is a much cheaper option and it is more convenient for some owners.
This was the condition of the deck before we started work:
The deck panels were made up in our workshop to the exact measurements taken from the boat:
Next the time came to fit the panels to the boat while it is in the water. It is quite an interesting and exciting process to see a new deck being fitted to a boat that is afloat throughout.
And finally, here are some pictures sent to us by the owner, of the boat out and about with her lovely new teak deck!
We bought Lady Em (a Maxi 35) in August 2016 knowing she needed a lot of care to bring her back to her best and moved her from Dover to Conwy.
In Conwy we were lucky enough to meet Barry and Paul from TLC who shared our vision and set about replacing her tired old teak deck with a beautiful new one along with a range of other tasks!
Their painstaking care, skill and attention to detail has been outstanding and we now the proud owners of the most stunning looking boat. I can’t fault their commitment or the quality of their work and would have no hesitation in highly recommending them.
Lady Em lives on E leg in Conwy, when we are not away sailing, please feel free to pop down and have a look
